Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 3, 2026

Overview

FreeLegalIQ is a free, independent legal cost calculator tool. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect (very little), what we do with it, and what choices you have. We've written it in plain English — no legalese.

Information We Collect

FreeLegalIQ does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data you enter into our calculators. All calculations run entirely in your browser — when you input figures into a child support, divorce cost, or DUI calculator, those numbers never leave your device. No calculator inputs are sent to our servers or any third party.

We do not require you to create an account, submit your email address, or provide any identifying information to use any tool on this site. You can use every calculator completely anonymously.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, we receive certain technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited. This information is processed through Google Analytics (described below) and is used only in aggregate to understand how our site is used. It is not linked to your identity.

Google AdSense

We display advertising through Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to show you relevant ads based on your browsing activity across the web. FreeLegalIQ does not control which ads appear or share your personal information with Google for advertising purposes beyond standard web browsing signals.

To learn more about how Google uses data from sites that use its advertising services, visit Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or through the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site in aggregate. This includes which pages are visited most often, how long visitors stay on the site, and general geographic location at the city or state level. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or personally identifying information through analytics.

Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish users and sessions. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking entirely by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled.

Cookies

FreeLegalIQ itself does not set first-party cookies. Third-party cookies may be set by Google AdSense and Google Analytics as described above. These cookies allow Google to recognize your browser across visits and serve relevant ads. You can manage, block, or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of some websites you visit.

No Data Sales — Ever

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with law firms, attorneys, legal services companies, legal referral networks, lead generation services, or any other third parties. FreeLegalIQ is not a legal lead generation site and never will be. Our business model is Google display advertising — not selling your information to lawyers.

Third-Party Links

Our blog articles and resource pages may contain links to external websites. Once you leave FreeLegalIQ, this privacy policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites and encourage you to read their privacy policies before submitting any personal information.

Children's Privacy

FreeLegalIQ is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our site, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Your Rights (California Residents)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. Because we do not sell personal information and collect very little identifying data, most CCPA requests are satisfied by our standard practices. To exercise your rights, contact us through our Contact page.

Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we do process. Our site is served exclusively over HTTPS. Because we do not store calculator inputs or user accounts, the risk of a data breach affecting your personal financial or legal information is minimal by design.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of FreeLegalIQ after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

Contact Us

If you have questions, concerns, or requests related to this privacy policy or our data practices, please reach out through our Contact page. We aim to respond to all privacy inquiries within 5 business days.
